Mt. Tabor Grave Site

My grandparents lie here, James Martin Hughes and Demaris Shirley (Mae) Hughes. Mother first saw my grandfather preaching on this site under a large oak tree. Everyone knew my grandfather as Mart and my grandmother as Mae. He is listed in the family Bible as John James Martin Hughes and he is listed on the 1870 census as John. He was age one year at the time. It is hard to imagine that someone (I) living today, remembers someone born in 1869 so well. He died in 1954 when I was eleven years of age. Below and buried next to them are Arthur Belew and Rachael Hughes Belew, (Sister to Mart Hughes).
