Knowing that Fort Daniel, built for protection during the War of 1812 ,was located in what is now Gwinnett Co helps explain how William and John Hughes eventually settled there with their families. The farm land is described as being good and William must have spent time at Fort Daniel while serving in that war.
Perhaps someone reading this can give us a history of the Hughes men who were charter members of Gloster Baptist Church.
