Ivy Maples
This is my Aunt Ivy Hughes Maples. Ivy was my dad's youngest sister. She lived at Brooksville, AL and had two children. She was married to Ernest Maples and they owned a farm and a peach orchard. Aunt Ivy was a very special person. In addition to being beautiful and loving, she was also very talented. She played piano at New Center Baptist Church and was a great seamstress. She has five grandchildren and is missed so much by her family.
I am interested in knowing if I am from this line of Hughes'! I know nothing except my great grandfather was born in SC in Nov of 1845 in or around Rock Hill. I do not know names of father, mother, or sibblings.Do you think you can help me? His names was William H. Hughes. I do know that when his father died his mother remarried a man with the surname of Ratteree.
